Mauricio Pochettino has held clear the air talks with Thiago Silva, after the Brazilian’s wife appeared to call for him to be sacked as Chelsea manager.
Belle Silva took to social media after the Blues’ defeat by Wolves in what is a dreadful season for the big-spending club.
She wrote: ‘It’s time to change. If you wait any longer it will be too late.’
When asked on Tuesday about it, Pochettino said: ‘He came today to talk with me. I don’t want to talk about what we were talking about.
‘The important thing is he came, he wanted to talk with me. You know me after more than 10 years, how I am, we are a very strong coaching staff. He came to talk. We talked. That was private. That’s it.

When asked if he still has a strong relationship with Silva, he said: ‘It’s good. It’s very good.
‘You can see from my press conferences and interviews in the way I was talking about him.’
Chelsea are enduring a horrendous season and Pochettino is under increasing pressure, despite the understanding that he is undertaking a long term project at Stamford Bridge.
They currently reside just inside the bottom half after the Wolves defeat that prompted Silva’s wife to appear to call for the manager’s head.
It’s not the first time she’s made her displeasure known on social media.
In January last year as the club fell to a 1-0 defeat against Manchester City, Silva expressed her disapproval at boos ringing out around Stamford Bridge.
She uploaded a video of herself on social media with the caption: ‘Don’t come to Stamford Bridge if you’re not singing COME ON CHELSEA !!! #blueisthecolour @ChelseaFC @tsilva3’.
Meanwhile, during Thomas Tuchel’s time in charge she questioned why her husband was not featured in marketing materials around the club’s ground.

‘Today I went to Stamford Bridge, and I noticed that the photos changed around the stadium. But I don’t see a photo of @tsilva3 anywhere. Why @ChelseaFC?’
Pochettino, meanwhile, has admitted the job is more of a challenge than he had originally anticipated.
He said: ‘Of course, it’s always a tough job. But at the same time it is an exciting project and a project that we know is difficult.
‘In this type of moment, we are living in a situation that is not nice, we can learn. It is a good opportunity to learn. I told the players today in the meeting that I trust them more than ever.
‘We really trust the players we have. We are going to face this moment and knowing we can move back and win games.’
Chelsea have the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool to look forward to on February 25, but will be focusing on reviving their fortunes in the Premier League, with Aston Villa up next on Wednesday.
