Danielle Lloyd has revealed she was convinced she had cancer and waited six weeks to be given the all-clear after finding an ovarian cyst the size of a tennis ball.

The former glamour model, 39, was rushed to hospital in July with heavy bleeding, which she feared was a miscarriage at the time but turned into a cancer scare.

Speaking to Closer, the CBB star, married to electrician Michael O’Neill, explained she was having heartbreaking thoughts of not being there for her five children.

She said: ‘It was such a worrying time for me – the thought of not being here for my kids and watching them grow up was heartbreaking.’

Danielle has Archie, 13, Harry, 12, and George, 10, from her previous husband, Jamie O’Hara, and Ronnie, six, and Autumn, two with Michael.

The doting mother was diagnosed with adenomyosis – a condition which causes endometrial tissue in the lining of the uterus to grow into the muscular wall of the uterus.

She is currently waiting for an operation to burn off part of her womb, but it will mean that the star will no longer be able to give birth to any more children.

‘I’ve got five beautiful kids, so I can look forward to the future now and a lovely Christmas.’

‘As you get older, you realise that health and family, are the priorities. Nothing else matters. But it makes me laugh, because when I was a kid, I’d look at my mum at 40 and go, ‘ you’re so old!’ My kids are probably doing the same,’ she added.

The star suffers from endometriosis and has been candid about her fertility and health struggles in the past.

In 2020, she revealed she underwent surgery for endometriosis after she was diagnosed with the painful disorder earlier that year.

Danielle has been open about her desires for sixth child in the past and had hoped for a baby girl for her fifth.

Before having Autumn, Danielle previously revealed her sons were also keen to have a little sister and said she had been to Dubai’s gender selection clinic, the Fakih IVF Centre.

The practice has been condemned by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and is illegal in Britain.

In an interview she said: 'It was such a worrying time for me - the thought of not being here for my kids and watching them grow up was heartbreaking'

The WHO says that sex selection raises ‘serious moral, legal, and social issues’ and can lead to the devaluation of women and gender imbalance.

Danielle has learnt that the treatment is accurate in 99% of the cases in which a baby is successfully born and has also started to investigate the possibility of arranging for a girl in Northern Cyprus, another state where it is legal.

However, Autumn was born without any sort of gender selection practise.

After further questioning, however, the TV star and electrician Michael had previously settled on America, where they felt the overall safeguards would be stronger.

Once there, a number of her eggs would be harvested and fertilised, and then one or two of the resulting female embryos will be reimplanted in the mother’s womb. The rest will be stored for possible use in the future.
