Vampire Academy Series: Will There Be A Season Two?

While it is not sure if there will be season two of Vampire Academy, many argue that there is a possibility of a second part. The series is a novel adaptation of the same book and has six parts- Vampire Academy, Frostbite, Shadow Kiss, Blood Promise, Spirit Bound, and Last Sacrifice.

In the novel, the story develops quite slowly while detailing out every event. Viewers may expect something similar to be portrayed in the series.

Additionally, there was a movie made based on the same novel. However, the audience could not see the end as the film did not go for the second part.

On the other hand, season 1 of the series has ten episodes ending on October 27, 2022. Four episodes have been released now. Therefore, it is hard to assume how the story may develop as it moves forward.

But, since the last episode is named Ascension, some readers assume that the series will end in the first season showing Lissa ascending the throne in the end, just like in the novel. But, it is still not sure what the episode has in store for the viewers.

Nonetheless, the book finishes the story in six volumes, giving an idea of how the story develops in each of them. It may help to find out if the series would have a second season or not.

Vampire Academy

In the first volume, Dhampir Rosemarie “Rose” Hathaway and her best friend, Moroi princess Vasilissa “Lissa” Dragomir, return to St. Vladimir’s Academy after two years on the run. They will have to deal with the Strigoi, a group of nefarious and violent vampires who are determined to transform Lissa into one of their own.

Frostbite

Likewise, in the second volume, Lissa and Rose work through their complicated romantic relationships. But, in the meantime, a Strigoi attacks St. Vladimir, which puts them on high alert.

Shadow Kiss

The third volume follows the last days of Lissa and Rose in the Academy before graduation. Rose starts to experience unsettling visions and even falls in love with her mentor and tutor, Dimitri Belikov.

Blood Promise

The fourth volume follows Rose as she deals with the aftermath of the Strigoi attack on St. Vladimir’s. She has to choose between honoring her life’s pledge to protect Lissa or leaving the Academy to find Dimitri, who has turned into a Strigoi.

Spirit Bound

In the fifth series, Rose returns to St. Vladimir but moving ahead, life after graduation awaits her and Lissa. However, Rose cannot forget about failing to kill Dimitri, who later hunts her down and propose she join him.

Last Sacrifice

The last series of the book shows that Rose is waiting for her execution in prison after being accused of killing the Moroi Queen. Lissa has to go to great lengths to find the murderer and is faced with challenges while running for the Queen.

Vampire Academy Movie Was A Failure

The movie is said to have many changes from the original, which is probably one of the reasons for its failure. Viewers who would watch the film of their favorite book would not want many changes from the original. Thus, it probably made them not watch it.

At the same time, Wottaread mentioned that the changes were not the only reason for its failure. The CGI effects and the action scenes were not up to par and disappointed the viewers.

The Second Part Of The Film Was Cancelled

The main reason behind the second part of the film being canceled was the failure of the first one. The movie had bad reviews and low ratings.

The producers probably did not risk filming the sequel as the viewers who were disappointed by the first part would not prefer watching the ending.

Vampire Academy starts with an event that takes place before the original story begins. The first episode opens with events taking place in the past, where many members of the Dragomir family die in a car crash.

Lissa is the only member who remains, and she also saves Rose, who was in the car then and unknowingly built a psychic bond between them.

Thus, the series will follow the life and adventure of two young ladies, Rose Hathaway and Lissa Dragomir, in St Vladimir’s Academy. Rose is the guardian in training, whereas Lissa is the princess of Moroi.

The premiere showed the parts where Lissa seemed to be elected as Queen. A dialogue in the trailer says, “Lissa needs to prepare for her new role as the head of the Dragomir family,” which probably refers to her election as Queen.

How Does Season 1 End?

Since the series has only released four episodes, it is hard to predict how the story will end. But, in the novel, Lissa will be crowned as the Queen of Moroi, whereas Rose will accept her love for Dimitri, and he will be the guardian of Lissa’s partner, Christian Ozera.

It is unclear if the series’ producers have planned to finish the story in the first season or if it will also have a second season. If the story does not end in the first season, viewers may have to wait some time before they can see Lissa being crowned.

There are ten notable characters in the Vampire Academy. They are Rosemary Hathaway, Sonya Karp, Dimitri Belikov, Lissa Dragomir, Christian Ozera, Mason Ashford, Victor Dashkov, Mia Mckenna, Tatiana Vogel, Meredith, and Kirova.

Sisi Stringer As Rosemarie

In the series, Sisi Stringer will be seen as Rosemarie, one of the lead actors. She is well known for her role in Mortal Kombat.

Rosemarie is the guardian and best friend of Princess Lissa. She is the daughter of Ibrahim ‘Abe’ Mazur and the well-known guardian, Janine Hathaway.

Kieron Moore As Dimitri Belikov

Dimitri Belikov is a dhampir. He is the single child of Randall Ivashkov and Olena Belikova. He will be the guardian of Lissa’s partner Christian Ozera after she is crowned.

Additionally, he is the love interest of Rosemarie Hathaway, who initially served as her mentor and previous combat instructor. He also becomes the second person who will have their Strigoi state healed by spirit.

Kieron Moore plays this character. Moore was a boxer for 12 years, as per IMDB. It is his first starring role in The Vampire Academy. He will also have a role in Masters of Air, which is said to be released in late 2022.

Daniela Nieves Will Be Lissa Dragomir

Lissa Dragomir is the princess of Moroi who later runs for the position of Queen after the previous Queen, Tatiana, gets killed. She is friends with Rosemarie.

Her role will be portrayed by Daniele Nieves, known for her appearance in Nickelodeon’s Every Witch Way and WITS Academy.

Andre Dae Kim As Christian Ozera

Andre Dae Kim is a Candian actor who will play the character Christian Ozera in The Vampire Academy. He soon falls in love with Lissa as she and Rose return to St. Vladimir’s Academy.

The actor playing the role, Kim, is well-known for his appearance as Dylan Edwards in the American television series Salvation.

Mason Ashford Played By Andrew Liner

Mason Ashford is one of Rose’s best friends. He is also a Dhampir who helps Rose throughout the series.

The role will be portrayed by Andre Liner, who had featured in a short movie, Jae & the Strange Fruit.

Victor Dashkov Played By J Agust Richard

Victor Dashkov first appears as a caring man who is friends with Lissa’s family. Later, he mostly plays the part of villain where he kidnaps Lissa so that she can heal him of Sandovsky’s Syndrome, the disease that is slowly killing him.

The role is portrayed by J Agust Richard, who is popularly known for his character Charles Gunn in The WB television series Angel.

Jonetta Kaiser Portray Sonya Karp

Sonya Karp is a teacher at St. Vladimir’s Academy. She is a spirit-using Moroi who has witnessed Lissa healing a raven. She later gives up her gift and turns into Strigoi.

Joetta Kaiser, who had appeared in Root Letter and Breakwater, will be playing the role of Sonya.

Mia McKenna- Bruce Plays Mia Karp

Mia McKenna will play the role of Mia Karp. She is an actress in the Netflix film Persuasion.

Mia’s name in the novel is Mia Rinaldi, but it is said that her name has been changed to Mia Karp in the Tv adaptation to make her the sister of Sonya Karp.

In the original, she dates Aaron when Lissa and Rose leave the Academy. But, upon their return, she takes disliking to Lissa as Aaron still has lingering feelings for her.

Anita Joy- Uwajeh Plays Tatiana Vogel

Tatiana Vogel is the Queen of Moroi, who later gets killed. After her demise, Lissa gets elected as the Queen.

Anita Joy-Uwajeh plays the role of Tatiana in the series. Additionally, she has featured in Lucky Man and National Theater Live: Cyrano de Bergerac.

Rhian Blundell Portray Meredith

Rhian Blundell will play the role of Meredith, a female guardian-in-training at St. Vladimir’s. She is part of the rescue team after the attack on St. Vladimir’s Academy. She has previously acted in a movie named Nobody Girl.
