After the Philadelphia Eagles’ late-season collapse continued against the New York Giants, Jason Kelce was the first to admit their shortcomings.

The Eagles lost 27-10 to the Giants in their regular season finale – a game which saw Philadelphia scoreless at halftime against a struggling team.

After enjoying a 10-1 start this season, Philadelphia have lost five of their last six games, surrendering the NFC East crown to the Cowboys in the process.

‘It f***ing sucks the way we’ve played the last six games,’ Kelce said.

‘All you can do is look in the mirror and go back to work. I know people get tired of hearing that. The only thing you can do is go back to work and have honest discussions.’

The downturn in results has prompted questions about the future of Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni.

However, Kelce insisted that the locker room still backs Sirianni – and that the players should be held equally accountable for the losses.

‘Every game we play is ultimately a reflection of the team and the head coach,’ Kelce said. ‘When you win or lose it’s always gonna come down and reel up a position of leadership.’

‘I think everybody in the locker room has faith in Nick Sirianni. I think it hasn’t been pretty, obviously, the last month but we’ve had a lot of really really successful football with Nick.’

Following the loss, the Eagles received heavy criticism from the NBC Sports desk in Philadelphia. Broadcasters Ron Jaworski and Reuben Frank did not hold back about feeling embarrassed by the Eagles’ performance.

‘I’m embarrassed by the performance,’ Jaworski said during the broadcast. ‘This team now for two months has looked like an ill-prepared professional football team not worthy of representing what we believe is a great city. And we deserve better than that.’

However, despite the sour end to the regular season, the Eagles have the playoffs to make up for the late skid.

‘We’ll see what this team is made of,’ said quarterback Jalen Hurts. ‘I believe in this team. It’s win or go home’

‘Regardless if you’ve fallen down five times. It’s how you get up the sixth time.’

The No 5 seed will begin the postseason against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the wildcard round on January 15.
