The 23-year-old current Miss Belgium, Chayenne Van Aarle, was critically hurt in a car accident yesterday afternoon on the Antwerp-Ghent Motorway.
Near Kruibeke, the woman’s automobile got stuck under a truck’s trailer and had to be cut free by the emergency services. Though gravely hurt, she is not fighting for her life.
Around 1:30 pm, Chayenne drove into the rear of a traffic bottleneck on the Antwerp-bound road, causing an accident.
She was sent to Middelheim Hospital in Antwerp after being released from the accident.
The Miss Belgium pageant’s director, Darline Devos, said Chayenne is not in a life-threatening situation.

“From the photographs, you may assume the worst, but I’ve heard she’s not in a life-or-death situation. It’s so gratifying.
She has numerous bruises and a damaged eye socket. The fact that she is not in a life-or-death struggle is what matters most.
Chayenne’s final week serving as Miss Belgium. On Saturday at De Panne, the next Miss Belgium pageant’s championship final will be held. The championship game will likely take place without Chayenne.
She is a show animal and was looking forward to it, so it’s such a shame,” says Darline.
“A song by Chayenne was set to kick off the show. Although we have a video clip we can show, a live performance is still preferable.
Due to her complete bilingualism, she was also supposed to function as the backstage presenter. There is still a remedy for that, though!
Chayenne was also expected to give up her crown. As she did during the pandemic, Darline will have to fill in.

During her childhood, Chayenne and her family acquired several abused and abandoned animals, including camels, kangaroos, and zebras.
In August 2017, she visited Akamas, Cyprus, and the Blue Lagoon in Ghent, Belgium.
A trip to Venice, Italy, was taken in September 2017. In 2018, she visited Bangkok, the Phi Phi Islands, Sal, Cape Verde, and Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
In March 2019, Chayenne traveled to Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In May 2019, she traveled to Paramaribo, Suriname.
In August 2020, Chayenne visited Monaco’s Monte Carlo, and in January 2022, she visited Curacao.
