Harry Kane is all set for Bayern Munich move after crucial late-night talks with officials from the Bundesliga champion… with the England captain ready to undergo a medical after a £100m deal with Tottenham was agreed

Bayern Munich hope to conclude their £100million swoop for Tottenham striker Harry Kane following a night of crucial talks.

Bayern have agreed a £100million deal for Kane but were left waiting to complete the historic transfer amid concern at the German club that the deal was stalling.

Talks between Bayern, Tottenham and Kane were taking place late into Thursday amid growing optimism from the Bundesliga club that the striker remains set on joining.

The German giants have openly courted Kane for weeks having been assured, privately, that the 30-year-old would move to Bavaria.

However, after reaching a deal in principle with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, the Bundesliga club still hadn’t received the final green light to complete the mega swoop on Thursday evening.

It is understood contractual and financial points between Kane and Tottenham were still being concluded on Thursday while issues related to the distribution of intermediary fees were also being ironed out.

But following talks, there is renewed optimism from Bayern that a deal can be sealed by next week with Kane ready to undergo a medical.

Tottenham will formally grant Kane permission to travel to Germany to complete the formalities of his deal.

There is hope at Bayern that Kane will arrive in Germany before Monday to complete the move.

Indications at the start of the week, following Bayern’s third failed offer of £86m, were that Kane was leaning towards staying with Spurs.

Bayern have been very public in their pursuit of Kane, with honorary president Uli Hoeness and chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen both commenting on their pursuit of the striker.

But those public comments have left Kane in an uncomfortable situation while also frustrating Tottenham in the process.

That said, it would still arrive as a major shock now if Kane rejects a move to Bayern given he is understood to already have a verbal agreement over personal terms in place with Bayern, with the forward set to earn in the region of £400,000-per-week if he decides to leave for Germany.

Following weeks of talks and failed bids, Bayern have agreed a deal with Spurs that will likely earn Spurs at least £100m.

While the guaranteed part of the agreement is believed to be less than £100m – the add-ons are so achievable that Tottenham are practically certain to net a nine-figure sum.

Levy values the talismanic striker at £120m – but well-placed sources have indicated that offers in the region of £100m would tempt the club into selling a player available for nothing next summer.
