It’s fair to say that Coleen has had a trying few years – ever since getting embroiled in a legal battle with her WAG rival in October 2019, after accusing “Rebekah Vardy’s account” of leaking stories about her to the press. Add to that the mayhem of building a new super-mansion for the family, husband Wayne facing career stress and uncertainty, and the aforementioned hubs giving her all kinds of upset and embarrassment after yet another run of public drunken behaviour, and it’s no surprise that Coleen’s been a bit out of sorts.
But we’re told that she’s finally feeling more like herself – and with a very busy year ahead, she’s determined to glam up and prove to the world why she’s still queen of the WAGs. And the little red dress was just the beginning.
“Coleen turned heads last week, and that was certainly the intention,” says an insider close to the mum-of-four, who left the boys [Kai, 12, Klay, eight, Kit, five, and three-year-old Cass] at home with Wayne and joined friends at her good mate and former wedding planner Julie Perry’s annual, celeb-filled event. “After what feels like a long time off, being in a bit of a dark place and licking her wounds, she’s feeling like she’s found her power again and is ready to make a comeback – with a fabulous new wardrobe to choose from. She’s now on a mission to reclaim her territory.”
Even though they first met at school when they were 12, Wayne and Coleen first started dating after they finished school at the age of 16.
As heat has told you, a normally publicity-shy Coleen has had a change of heart recently when it comes to speaking out and telling her side of the story. Last month, the trailer dropped for an upcoming documentary about Wayne’s life – which, as well as celebrating his football career, will cover his many past misdemeanours, including his infamous nights with sex workers, and getting arrested for drink-driving while taking another woman home in 2017. n a teaser clip from the film, Coleen says, “I forgive him, but it wasn’t acceptable.” We’re sure, then, that’s it’s only a matter of time before she speaks out about Wayne’s most recent faux pas, which saw him being pictured passed out drunk in a hotel room with some girls he had met that evening in July.

In addition to this, insiders say that Coleen’s set to make her own explosive documentary all about her infamous feud with Rebekah, which would air next year, when their High Court trial also begins. Becky’s currently suing Coleen for libel – and both parties have racked up massive legal bills in the process as neither one of them has considered backing down. With their court date edging closer, our source tells us that Coleen’s defiant return to the spotlight – in that dress, no less – is a clear message to Becky AND to Wayne that she won’t be messed with.

“Coleen feels like she’s found her power and voice again, and is taking control of her life,” we’re told. “She’s strong and determined when it comes to the court case and she’s also putting Wayne in his place too. She’s keen to show Becky who the real queen WAG is around here and prove that she’s stronger than ever – that’s the best form of revenge in her eyes. She wants everyone to know that she’s back to her best.”
