3. The Box Trolls 2014

The main character of The Boxtrolls is a small child named Eggs (Isaac Hempstead Wright), who grows up in a peaceful troll community but is nevertheless stereotyped and persecuted by a ferocious exterminator named Archibald Snatcher (Ben Kingsley).

Eggs decides to expose Snatcher’s false claims and rescue his adopted family. From the stop-motion animation studio Laika, which won critical praise for Coraline (2009) and ParaNorman (2012), comes this darkly funny animated comedy.

4. How To Train Your Dragon 2 2014

How to Train Your Dragon 2 honors the elements of the first film that fans loved while also expanding on its ideas and mythology what a great sequel does best.

The movie, which is set five years after the events of Jay Baruchel’s 2010 How to Train Your Dragon, centers on Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) and his dependable dragon companion, Toothless, as they work to prevent a heartless hunter from ensnaring dragons for his army. In the process, Hiccup also meets up with a family member who was thought to have passed away and who may be able to assist them in their search.

5. Kung Fu Panda 3 2014

The third entry in the Kung Fu Panda series features more legendary exploits of magnificence. 6. The Mitchells vs. the Machines 2021

Every family has issues, but the Mitchell family is dealing with issues of a robot apocalypse magnitude. In this animated comedy, robots trying to take over the world throw an already disorganized road trip for a dysfunctional family into even more disarray. It is up to the Mitchells (voiced by Abbi Jacobson, Danny McBride, Maya Rudolph, and director Mike Rianda) to remove the machines and save humanity as they are the only ones remaining to repel them.

They will need to make sure, though, that their family’s bond with one another is greater than their one with their phones and iPads in order to do that. In a hilarious turn of events, The Mitchells vs. the Machines, a film that cautions against depending too much on technology, uses both CGI and hand-drawn animation to produce its images.

7. The Sea Beast 2022

In The Sea Beast, co-director Chris Williams of Big Hero 6 stars as a courageous orphan named Maisie who stows away aboard a ship of sea monster hunters. The admiral of their society wants to replace the sailors, who are known for their prowess in hunting, but their standing is in jeopardy.

They set out on one more search to find the Red Bluster, a formidable sea beast, but Maisie quickly learns that the creatures may not be as malevolent as they have been made up to seem. The Sea Beast, according to the streamer, is one of Netflix’s most-watched animated original films as of October 2022 because of its vibrant colors, action-packed scenes, and timeless narrative.

8. Trolls 2016
