Kyle Sandilands calls actor Firass Dirani ‘a massive pest’ and claims he ‘followed’ John Ibrahim around Sydney while playing the Kings Cross identity in Underbelly
Kylie Sandilands has branded Underbelly star Firass Dirani a ‘massive pest’.
The 51-year-old shock jock made the surprising outburst during The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Thursday.
He claimed that when Dirani was playing John Ibrahim in the TV crime series Underbelly, he ‘followed’ the Kings Cross identity around Sydney and would appear at the same night spots as Ibrahim.
Sandilands, who is a friend of Ibrahim, said Dirani would approach the pair when they were enjoying an evening out.
‘He became such a pest,’ Kyle told co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson.

He claimed that when Dirani was playing John Ibrahim in the TV crime series Underbelly, he ‘followed’ the Kings Cross identity around Sydney and would appear at the same night spots as IbrahimÂ
‘We’d be out some where and he’d be ‘’fancy meeting you here’’,’ he said.
‘I’m not going to use the word ”stalking”, but he did magically appear where ever we were…,’ he continued. ‘So we’d be like ”Oh, here’s Firass again”.’
‘But he’s a nice guy,’ Kyle was quick to add. ‘Don’t get me wrong we don’t not like him.’
It comes after Dirani is set to join the cast of the Australian remake of the BBC hit The Office.
Sandilands, meanwhile, has questioned the casting of the lead role in the Australian remake of The Office, played by Ricky Gervais in the original and Steve Carell in the US version.
The reboot of the iconic BBC sitcom, a mockumentary sitcom set in a paper company led by a hapless boss, is set to be produced Down Under by Amazon Prime ‘in future months’.Â
Female stars including Magda Szubanski, Celia Pacquola, Kitty Flanagan, Judith Lucy and Felicity Ward have all been tipped as in the running for the lead role.
But Kyle Sandilands questioned the proposed casting on Tuesday morning’s Kyle and Jackie O Show.Â

Sandilands, who is a friend of Ibrahim, far left, said Dirani would approach the pair when they were enjoying an evening out. The pair are pictured here with their other best mate Simon Main
‘That’ll be a disaster, I feel’ said Kyle. ‘Because they’ve cast all the wrong types of people.’
He continued, ‘What they should have done, is used a cast of people that no one has ever seen before, like what happened with the original Office.’
‘I mean you can’t go past Ricky Gervais,’ agreed his co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson. ‘The British Office was the best one’
‘It’s going to be like a Kath & Kim spoof,’ Kyle predicted.Â
