Approximately 45 minutes later, officers found him at the exact location; he was taken into custody.

Walsh acknowledged using the narcotic during the night in a heartfelt apology the following day.

This is entirely my fault. I should not have carried it out. I’ve made a mistake, and I’m conscious of it. I regret doing it and shouldn’t have,” he admitted then.

There is no involvement from anyone else. It is all up to me. I should have never raised my hand in the first place. I made a mistake.

“I want to apologize to the Warriors, the sponsors, and the fans.”

Reece Walsh Arrest Cause Of Cocaine Possession

In the wee hours of September 25, Walsh was apprehended by Queensland Police at Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast and was discovered to have cocaine.

The 19-year-old is scheduled to appear in court in the middle of October on a single count of possession of a controlled drug.

Following an investigation, the NRL integrity unit imposed the sanction and stipulated that Walsh complete all required education and training.

Last month, shortly after Walsh’s arrest became public, he and Warriors CEO Cameron George addressed the media via Zoom. Walsh apologized and accepted responsibility for his conduct while crying.

He admitted admission to the accusations of possessing cocaine and disobeying a court order to go on.

At the time, Walsh said, “I made a mistake, and I’m aware of it. I’m sorry, and I should never have done it. Walsh received a $400 fine and a nine-month good conduct bond.

After being found in possession of cocaine, Warriors fullback Reece Walsh was hit with a $5000AUD ($5234) fine and a two-game suspension by the NRL.

He was given a $400 fine and a $500 good behavior bond by Magistrate Ron Kilner. No conviction was recorded.

The magistrate warned Walsh that if he chooses to embrace the benefits of playing professional football, he must also face the responsibilities that accompany it.

Walsh declared, “I’m going to work hard, get over this, and make sure something like this never happens again.”
