San Francisco 49ers stars Christian McCaffrey and Nick Bosa sounded off after a 6am fire alarm abruptly woke the team up on Thursday.

The team is staying at Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort and Spa in Henderson, Nevada ahead of Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday. When the jarring fire alarm went off, guests were not signaled to evacuate their rooms as hotel staff deemed it a false alarm.

Later in the day, McCaffrey and Bosa both insisted that the disturbance was anything but an accident. They claimed this was not the first time they dealt with hotel shenanigans as an away team.

‘I think there’s no way it’s random,’ McCaffrey said. ‘It’s part of it. It’s just more wood thrown on the fire.’

‘I’m sure somebody did it,’ Bosa said. ‘It kind of reminded me of Philly when they had this construction going on outside. It was early in the morning and they were like demolishing a bridge right outside of our hotel. We haven’t had the best luck. But no excuses.’

Long snapper Taybor Pepper claimed that the premature alarm went on for 18 minutes after a report suggested that it was eight minutes shorter.

’18 mins but who’s counting lmao,’ Pepper said on X.

‘Moving forward, we shouldn’t have a problem,’ Hilton security manager Brian Roshon said after the incident.

The fire alarm is the latest inconvenience thrown towards the NFC champions as they gear up to face the Kansas City Chiefs at Allegiant Stadium. Earlier this week, the 49ers expressed their displeasure with the field conditions at UNLV where they hold practices ahead of Sunday.

The NFL laid a natural grass surface on top of UNLV’s artificial turf. However, 49ers staff noted that the surface was too soft for the team to practice on.

With San Francisco serving as the away team, they don’t get the benefit of playing at the local NFL team’s facilities that the Kansas City Chiefs do.

Despite their complaints, the field was deemed acceptable from a health-and-safety standpoint. The 49ers have one more workout at UNLV on Friday as they wrap up preparations.

‘We’re just trying to get to Sunday and be as prepared as we possibly can,’ Bosa said. ‘And if we have to deal with a couple more issues, we’re ready to do it.’
