Dr. Mehmet Oz is hoping to make a big career change.

The 61-year-old TV host and cardiothoracic surgeon will be running for senate in Pennsylvania, according to TMZ.

The outlet is reporting that Mehmet is running as a Republican for the seat held by Pat Toomey, who is retiring. TMZ is reporting that he “just made a multi-million dollar media buy in the state … a media buy to push his impending candidacy.”

It’s being reported that Dr. Oz will likely step away from his talk show over the next few months. The official announcement is expected to be made on Fox News Channel’s Hannity on Tuesday night (November 30).
