Suzanne Somers had an incredible love story spanning half a century with Alan Hamel.

The Three’s Company actress spent 55 years with her longtime partner before she tragically passed away on Sunday morning, a day before she would have turned 77.

The couple were together married for 46 of those years, and their love endured even through her 23-year battle with an aggressive form of cancer.

Over the years, the couple built a tight-knit family together as well as a remarkable brand that licensed and sold over 500 products.

The pair had also been candid about enjoying their very spicy sex life as Somers had previously opened up about how she ‘spoiled’ her husband in bed.

Most recently and touchingly, Hamel wrote her a gushing love letter the day before she passed away.

He ‘gave it to her a day early and she read the poem and went to bed and later died peacefully in her sleep’, Somers’ publicist, R. Couri Hay told People.

She was initially diagnosed with skin cancer in her 30s and then battled breast cancer in 2000.

This past summer, she had revealed she had received another cancer diagnosis.

Her adoring husband supported her through it all.

In 1969, the couple first met on the set of the syndicated game show series, The Anniversary Game, with Somers as a prize model and Hamel as the host.

Her time on the show was brief, but their romance ignited then and continued even when she left the show.

Years later in March 1977, the couple purchased a home in Palm Springs, California together.

They had dated for 10 years before tying the knot in September of that same year.

They remained inseparable up until she ‘passed away peacefully at home’, according to the statement released on Sunday.

This followed her candid revelation that that they would have sex around two to three times a day.

In 2021, she told First for Women that they ‘compliment and spoil one another’.

‘It’s about honoring and respecting one another and giving your partner what they need,’ she had said at the time before noting that they would start off their day in a ‘romantic bliss’ and ‘just try to keep it going’.

In 2020, she shared on Heather Dubrow’s World that before noon, they would have had sex three times already.

In a statement shared by Somers’ publicist, she had passed away early Sunday, surrounded by her family.

‘Suzanne was surrounded by her loving husband Alan, her son Bruce, and her immediate family,’ the statement read. ‘Her family was gathered to celebrate her 77th birthday on October 16th.

‘Instead, they will celebrate her extraordinary life, and want to thank her millions of fans and followers who loved her dearly.’
