He said: “The oven has got to be set at 210 degrees, that’s the way we’ve tried and tested it.”

However, Gordon Ramsay claimed that there are two secret steps to making the best Yorkshire puddings.

The first is to let the batter rest once you’ve mixed and the second is to heat your tin and beef dripping so it’s piping hot when you do pour the batter in.

In Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant, they make the Yorkshire pudding recipe batter the night before and leave it at room temperature until it’s needed the following day.

However, households don’t need to do this, but what they can do is rest their Yorkshires for at least an hour before cooking to ensure a good rise and deliciously light puddings.

The longer you leave it, the better, making them ideal to prepare ahead of your family lunch.

For those who do decide to let the batter mix sit overnight, they need to make sure to give it a good stir before cooking.

For those who don’t have beef drippings, they should look to use a fat that will get hot enough to puff up the Yorkshire puddings.

Olive oil isn’t the best choice, but sunflower or vegetable oil reaches a higher temperature, which is essential for achieving the maximum reaction when the batter is added.
