Teenage darts sensation Luke Littler has revealed how he feels about losing the Dutch Darts Masters final to Michael van Gerwen. 

The 17-year-old star continued his rise to dart’s top table this week by reaching the final in Den Bosch. 

However, he was beaten 8-6 by three-time world champion Van Gerwen, who had fallen to Littler in the final in Bahrain last weekend.

Little described it as an ‘unbelievable game’ and vowed to take the positibrs despite his defeat  

‘I will take the positives from this. It was an unbelievable game. I put Michael under a lot of pressure, but he just wouldn’t miss,’ he said.

Little also praised fans in the arena, saying: ‘The crowd have been amazing. They wanted Michael to win and I get that, but respect to Michael.’ 

Meanwhile, a delighted Van Gerwen said: ‘Luke Littler will have a bright future ahead of him, we all know that. His scoring power is immense. He doesn’t care about anything and he does his own thing.

‘I needed my best performance. To win this trophy and win against Luke Littler in front of the home crowd is amazing.’

Littler will return to action when he make his Premier League Darts debut in Cardiff on Thursday night. 

He will seek to avenge his World Darts Championship final defeat as he takes on Luke Humphries once again in the last-16. 

‘I cannot wait to go down to Cardiff for the Premier League next week,’ Littler added. ‘Hopefully I can continue my good form there.’
