The news came as a shock to the Young Thug’s fans as they were informed of the rapper’s arrest.

Not only him but 28 people associated with his company, YSL Records, also joined him on the arrest list. Alongside the notable rapper, fellow rapper Gunna was also arrested, and these people have been charged in a 56-count indictment.

The group is held under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) charges and will be presented in court shortly.

Rapper Young Thug was arrested and taken into custody after a house raid initiated by the Georgia Police.

The “Stoner” rapper is currently held at Fulton County Jail along with his record label members.

Once named the “most influential rapper of the 21st century,” Young Thug’s arrest has shocked the world, and the upcoming legal proceedings have intrigued the music industry.

Booked under the RICO charges, the rapper and his fellows are noted down for their participation in criminal street gang activity, mainly from May 12, 2018.

Meanwhile, Young Thug is indicted for his 2015 crime of allegedly renting a vehicle for the murder heist of rival gang member Donovan Thomas Jr.

Young Thug Lives In A Rented Georgia Mansion

Young Thug was at his rented apartment in Buckhead, Georgia, at the time of his arrest. Meanwhile, he is originally from Sylvan Hills, a neighborhood in Atlanta (Zone 3).

Born Jeffery Lamar Williams, the rapper grew up in the Jonesboro South projects. Notable rappers, including Waka Flocka Flame, 2 Chainz, Ludacris, and childhood friend PeeWee Longway also lived in the same neighborhood.

Young Thug also started his own record label imprint, YSL Records, in Atlanta under 300 Entertainment.

As the rapper and his friends are currently in jail awaiting their trial, people are intrigued to know more about the criminal activities that landed them in such big legal trouble.

Brandon Sample writes that the penalties for a conviction under the RICO Act can be as harsh as 20 years in federal prison. However, in Young Thug and his group’s case, not much can be concluded right now.

They are still awaiting trial while they are soon to be presented in a court of law.
