B&M

Beloved British high street stores B&M and New Look face major changes which will come into place in just a few days.

Variety retailer B&M has closed a number of stores in recent months, including Kiln Lane branch in Reading closing on Saturday, August 19.

But B&M fans won’t be disappointed for too long, as B&M will be moving to a bigger site in Brunel Retail Park.

The 22,826 square foot store will open its doors at 8am on Saturday, August 26, a stone’s throw away from the previous site.

Customers can look forward to its own 7,395ft garden centre selling hundreds of plants and gardening products, reported The Reading Chronicle.

The store manager at B&M Brunel, said: “We wanted a bigger and better store for our customers, giving them even more big, branded products.

“We hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store and garden centre, we’re really excited to get the doors open very soon.”

B&M’s Glasgow Forge site also closed temporarily on Sunday, August 20, but will re-open this weekend, on Saturday, August 26.

New Look

Fashion retailer New Look will also see some big changes on the same day. The Kings Chase Shopping Centre site in Bristol shut its doors on Wednesday, August 9.

However reports suggest that this will not be a permanent measure, and the store will simply be getting a revamp.

After refurbishment and expansion works, the new store is said to be opening back up to customers at 8am on Saturday, August 26. Express.co.uk has reached out to New Look to confirm this.

Its store in Crossgates Shopping Centre, Leeds, is also set to shutter this summer.

New Look’s Littlehampton in Sussex also shut its doors earlier this month on Sunday, August 6.

Co-op, Iceland, Asda, Argos and Boots have also faced store closures this month.
