After 24 seasons and six Super Bowl titles with the New England Patriots, Bill Belichick is looking for new pastures and will be moving on to a new team.

That process is not yet finalized as Belichick hopes to win more titles and surpass both George Halas and Don Shula and undoubtedly become the greatest coach in NFL history.

Doubtless a number of teams will be fighting for the rights to make that happen and Belichick will have his pick of teams to choose from.

But it all depends on what kind of team he wants. There are teams that are ready now to fight for a Super Bowl, teams that aren’t exactly title challengers but need a little push, and those who – if developed nicely – can thrive for years to come.

Here, DailyMail.com ranks the five most-likely landing spots for the six-time Super Bowl champion head coach.

5. Philadelphia Eagles

Even if the Philadelphia Eagles fall to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the likelihood of the team firing Nick Sirianni is incredibly low.

But that doesn’t mean it’s impossible. According to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, sunsetting Sirianni is well within the realm of possibility – especially considering the timeline for their last head coach.

‘I think they’ve shown in the past that they’re not afraid to move on,’ Graziano said. ‘Doug Pederson was just two years removed from winning the Super Bowl, which no other coach in the history of the organization has ever done, and they got rid of him because of the way that season ended.

‘So I think it’s worth keeping an eye on if things go very badly for them Monday night in Tampa and you’re looking at the last two months and going this is not it.’

There haven’t been nearly as many indications that the Eagles would be looking in another direction as there were with Pederson. Then again, there hasn’t been a free agent coach of Belichick’s caliber that has been available in a while. Belichick would take charge of a team currently built to fight for Super Bowls for years to come.

4. Dallas Cowboys

While the Eagles haven’t really shown their frustrations with Sirianni, the same cannot be said for Philly’s NFC East rivals, the Dallas Cowboys.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has been erratic in the past when it’s come to head coaching decisions (see: Tom Landry, Jimmy Johnson) so throwing a boat load of cash at Belichick to have Dallas re-claim the title of ‘America’s Team’ shouldn’t be out of the question.

On paper, Dallas might be the most complete team that Belichick could take over right now. They have a potent offense and a staunch defense that are both top-five in the league.

If there was ever a team for Belichick to take over that had the potential to win the Super Bowl next year, it’s Dallas.

Maybe Jones knows that and is willing to throw McCarthy out of the building to land Belichick. Crazier things have happened.

3. Los Angeles Chargers

This is the first of three teams with a head coaching vacancy. Of the three, the Chargers by far have the best offensive unit.

Whether you look at quarterback Justin Herbert, running back Austin Ekeler (if he can be convinced to stay), or wide receivers Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, the Chargers have all the makings of a high-powered offense.

Inversely, the defense leaves much to be desired. The Chargers had the fifth worst total defense last season – giving up the third most passing yards and the ninth most points in the league. But, with a defensive mind like Belichick, he could be tempted to turn that around.

The one drawback to this would be Dean Spanos. The Chargers’ owner is notoriously meddlesome and trigger happy when it comes to decisions concerning leadership and even where the team is located.

Considering Belichick just left a job where he had a rumored strained relationship with the owner, it might not be likely that he jumps so quickly to another one – despite how talented the roster is.

2. Las Vegas Raiders

If Belichick makes the jump out west to the desert, he could be reunited with his greatest ever co-worker: Tom Brady.

Well, at least in some capacity. Brady recently bought a small stake in the Raiders and would be instrumental in trying to convince Belichick to come to Las Vegas.

There are two reasons why Belichick might not take this job. First, the Raiders would be a complete re-build project. Last year their defense struggled and their offense was the sixth worst in the league.

It could mean a chance to work with quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo once again, but one wonders if the 71-year-old head coach is interested in a full-on reclamation project like this one.

Then there’s the matter of Antonio Pierce, the Raiders current interim head coach who won over the locker room and finished out the season winning five of the last nine games.

The last time the Raiders chose an outside head coach (Josh McDaniels) over their successful interim (Rich Bisaccia) it didn’t end well. Maybe they’ll prevent that from happening again.

1. Atlanta Falcons

By far and away the front-runners to get Belichick, the Atlanta Falcons are one of the most talented young teams in the game.

After being stymied by Arthur Smith’s mindboggling coaching, tight end Kyle Pitts would be in a system that prioritizes getting him the ball.

Belichick is also very used to getting his running backs involved in the passing game – which could be a great sign for rookie Bijan Robinson.

Of course, the coach has a painful history with the Falcons. After all, he sparked the greatest single-game comeback in American sports history by turning a 25 point deficit to Atlanta into a win in Super Bowl LI.

Now would be a perfect time to repay the city for that black mark. Belichick in Atlanta could prove to be the start of another dynasty if all the cards are played right.
