A Duluth jury this week found 36-year-old Anthony Alton Holloway guilty of the March attack at the couple’s Kenwood apartment after a five-day trial.
The 32-year-old victim said to police that Holloway stabbed her and threatened to kill her.
The couple’s 1-year-old child was cuddled up next to the victim, according to court records.

Holloway allegedly called 911 and confessed to the attack.
The victim was initially hospitalized in critical condition and underwent multiple surgeries, but she and the unborn child survived.
Holloway was found guilty of both attempted intentional second-degree murder and child endangerment by the jury.
Before sentencing on December 19, Judge Dale Harris ordered an investigation into Holloway’s background.
Based on the seriousness of the charge and his extensive criminal history, he will likely face a lengthy prison sentence.
According to court records:
At around 5:15 am. On March 2, multiple people, including Holloway, called 911 to report a stabbing inside an apartment building at 1701 Kenwood Ave.
When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered the victim “bleeding profusely.”
The woman told investigators at St. Luke’s hospital that she was sleeping with the 1-year-old curled up to her abdomen when she awoke to find Holloway stabbing her in the back.
She claimed she tried to flee, but Holloway stabbed her in the stomach and threatened to kill her.

A Duluth man has been charged with stabbing his pregnant girlfriend earlier this week.
In connection with the incident, 35-year-old Anthony Holloway has been charged.
According to the complaint, the victim was stabbed 12 times in her chest, neck, and back.
According to the criminal complaint, one of the stab wounds struck her in the heart.
When Police arrived on the 1700 block of Kenwood Avenue, the victim was bleeding profusely, and she was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital for treatment.
Holloway’s child is two months pregnant.
According to the complaint, Holloway allegedly told her during her pregnancy with their previous child, who is now one year old, that he “hoped the baby would die.”
Although the child was not injured in the attack, investigators said he was covered in blood.
According to the victim, “I assumed he intended to murder me. He continued to lunge at me. It felt like I was a pin cushion.”
She claimed she was sleeping when Holloway stabbed her in the back. Holloway has been charged with attempted murder and endangering a child.
The bail amount has been set at $750,000.
