‘The state of those talons!’: Celebrity Bake Off fans complain Jesy Nelson’s long nails are giving them ‘anxiety’ as she competes in the tent

Celebrity Bake Off fans were left horrified by Jesy Nelson’s nail choice on the show as she competed in the tent for Stand Up To Cancer.

The singer, 31, appeared alongside Friends star David Schwimmer, comedian Rose Matafeo and actor Tom Davis.

However, Jesy’s attempts at baking became quickly hindered by her very long fake nails, necessitating Prue Leith’s help.

Fans were quick to notice the faux-pas and took to Twitter to complain that the nails were making them anxious about food hygiene.

One said: ‘Did nobody advise Jesy Nelson in advance of appearing on Bake Off about what she’d actually be doing on the programme? The state of those talons!!”’

Prue said that ‘it doesn’t look like you know what your doing’.

The singer quickly replied: ‘This is my technique. This is awful your helping me. I was really hoping for the handshake but it isn’t going to happen is it’.

Later in the show while making her show stopper, Jesy admitted she had no idea how to separate eggs as she attempted to make a meringue.

The show marked the first in the latest series of the popular baking show, which aims to raise vital funds to help fund cancer research and support services, in the special celebrity edition.
