Love Island Australia’s Courtney Stubbs has hit back at her critics after she was slammed for announcing her post-partum diet plan on Instagram.

The 26-year-old, who welcomed her first child with MAFS star Jack Millar four months ago, raised eyebrows on Monday after she shared photos of herself posing in underwear alongside a caption revealing she was ‘fasting’ while breastfeeding in order to shed weight.

The negative comments rolled in, with followers branding her post ‘triggering’ to other new mothers.

Courtney finally responded to the backlash a day later, announcing on her Instagram Stories that she had edited her original post’s caption to remove all references to her post-partum diet and exercise regimen.

‘I deal with enough anxiety and stress being a new mum, I can’t deal with these negative people coming for me, making up false narratives,’ she wrote.

‘Who thought becoming a new mum and becoming part of a new community (parents) would be so negative online. How disappointing.’

Courtney thanked those who ‘understood what she was saying’ and showed support amid the wave of criticism.

The brunette continued her rant in the newly-edited caption of her original post.

‘I am healthy, as is my baby. It’s not fair for me to get mum shamed/body shamed/personality shamed because of a lifestyle that has been approved by my doctor and of which I enjoy,’ she wrote.

‘If you choose, go buy another influencer’s weight loss program so they make money. I was sharing as it’s free to be open and honest but how upset and anxious it has made me, It’s not worth it.’

Courtney went on to insist that she only had pure intentions when writing her original post, explaining: ‘My intention was never to make anyone upset, my intention was to help.’
