Shakira Helps Her Ill Father With His Physio In The Hospital – Shakira has shared an emotional video of herself helping her father William Mebarak Chadid with a physio session in hospital.
The Colombian singer, 45, confirmed last week that her father, 91, was back in hospital and had been admitted to the Teknon-Quiron clinic in Barcelona.
Shakira’s visit comes after her ex Gerard Pique, 35, confirmed that he had been to see William in hospital because they are ‘still family’.

In the clip, Shakira can be seen helping her father to strengthen his legs using physio techniques while a doctor watches from the sidelines.
She wrote in the caption of the video: ‘And life is something that happens between hospital visits, and Halloween costumes.’
Shakira has been juggling family life, her career, and hospital visits since her dad was readmitted to the hospital last week.

A family statement read: ‘Shakira’s communication team confirms that the singer’s father, William, is hospitalized at the Teknon-Quiron clinic in Barcelona.
‘Details about his health condition are confidential, so the family asks for respect at this time while waiting to see his evaluation.’
It was Shakira’s mother Nidia Ripoll who confirmed Pique had been to visit William while he was in the hospital, telling reporters: ‘We are still family.’

According to Nidia, William is currently ‘stable’, but she is not sure when he will be discharged, Hola! reports.

The songstress has been showing her affection towards her father on social media in recent days, as she shared a picture of him kissing her mother on Instagram.
She also shared images of him with his grandchildren and wrote: ‘You taught us to get up after every fall and this time we know you will do it again. We love you.’
William has had a tough year after contracting COVID-19, suffering a fall in May, and undergoing several surgeries.
In early June Shakira revealed she suffered a scary moment when her father was taken to the hospital the week prior.

She shared a post to Twitter telling fans that her dad had to go to the hospital following a ‘bad fall.’
‘Guys, I’m getting a lot of messages of concern that I was seen in an ambulance in Barcelona recently,’ the singer-songwriter tweeted.
‘I just wanted to let you know that those photos are from last weekend (the 28th), when my dad, unfortunately, had a bad fall and I accompanied him in an ambulance to the hospital where he is recovering now,’ she explained.

Although it sounded as if he was on the upswing, her dad’s fall was the latest in a string of tough developments in Shakira.
She and her longtime partner Gerard announced in a joint statement that they were splitting up.
The couple were together for more than a decade and share two children together as well.
