Home baker attempts to make a Bluey birthday cake using Woolies mudcakes – but is left in hysterics over her ‘abomination’ of a dessert
- Home baker attempted to recreate simple Bluey dessert
- But the end result looked like an ‘abomination’
A young woman has left the internet in stiches after attempting to recreate a Bluey birthday cake made by professional baker Tegan ‘Tigga’ Maccormack.
The dessert was meant to be easy to create, as it involves cutting up a pre-made Woolworths mudcake then adding icing over the top.
Lucy, from Melbourne, decided to give it a go herself after seeing the video on TikTok, but found the execution difficult than first thought and was disappointed with the outcome.
The original design looked adorable and was made with icing to match the exact colour of the character, along with marshmallow eyes and wafer ears.
But Lucy’s version looked nothing like the inspiration and instead appeared corrupt with a square wafer mouth and melted icing everywhere.

Sharing an image of the hilarious end result on Facebook, Lucy wrote: ‘Enjoy this absolute abomination – it looked easy on TikTok.’
The wooden skewers seen sticking out of the head also were likely intended to hold the ears in place.
The end result left hundreds on Facebook in hysterics but some said their child would’ve ‘loved’ this cake, despite how it looks.
‘This is the honesty I needed in my life,’ one woman wrote, another said: ‘It’s very cute despite not being like the picture.’
‘The two sticks just did it for me. 10/10 for effort though!’ a third wrote.
‘I just showed my seven-year-old, he says, “keep trying!” Then he says to me, “but it looks so bad she should probably eat the whole thing.” It’s amazing,’ another added.
Someone else said: ‘OMG I genuinely love it ! It made me smile, thank you for sharing.’
