Grout keeps dirt and debris from getting between tiles and firmly sets the tiles in place more firmly. Moisture and humidity in the bathroom and kitchen cause mildew stains on the grout between your tiles, and that’s why it often turns yellow. Don’t worry, Express.co.uk chatted to Ronseal’s senior product manager Rachel Meadowcroft to find out how to clean and refresh the grout between your tiles.

How to clean and refresh grout between tiles

The first thing you need to do to keep your grout looking fresh and clean is to get rid of any mould or stains.

The Ronseal Grout Cleaner will do the job, but there are other natural products that you can use regularly to keep mould and mildew at bay.

White vinegar, baking soda, citric acid and apple cider vinegar will all help to reduce the stains and improve the look of your grouting.

The best way to paint the lines isn’t tile by tile, it’s vertical and then horizontal.

Rachel said: “Use on vertical grout lines first. If you get any paint on your tiles don’t worry, you can use a damp cloth to remove it.

“To cover large areas, you may need to use the spare nib. Simply take the old nib out and slot the new nib into the barrel and hold the nib down on some paper until the paint starts to come out again.

“Once you’ve finished redefining the grout lines you need to leave it to dry for 24 hours before getting the area wet.”
