Here is a transcript of Adesanya’s post-fight statement:

“Congratulations to Sean Strickland. He was the better man tonight. I’ll be back stronger than ever.”

“I had a different plan for this but again life throws curveballs at you,” Adesanya said. “Win or lose, I wasn’t going to say much anyway but right now, I lost tonight to the better man on the night. I just want to go and be with people who care about me — my team and they’re waiting for me so I’m going to do that.

“But I will leave you in the capable hands of a man who is much smarter than me, I’ll admit this on worldwide national media, I’ll leave you with Eugene Bareman. He’ll handle this for the first time. I want to go chill, have some breakfast, build my family and till next time.”

Adesanya also posted a video afterwards on social media where he showed the damage he absorbed during the fight with Strickland while saying “it’s not that bad, nothing broken, a little touched up.”

“Still thriving, it’s all good, “Adesanya said. “I hate losing but I love living and I’m thriving. I’ll address the people but right now, I’ve got to put me first.”

Adesanya is known for his trash talk and his colorful post-fight interviews, so his silence after the loss to Strickland was a bit surprising. However, it is possible that he was simply too disappointed to speak.

It is also possible that Adesanya is simply taking the loss in stride and is already focused on getting back in the gym and training for his next fight. Only time will tell what is next for the former UFC middleweight champion.

Here are some possible reasons why Adesanya did not make any comments on the UFC 293 press conference after he lost to Sean Strickland:

  • He was too disappointed to speak.
  • He is simply taking the loss in stride and is already focused on getting back in the gym and training for his next fight.
  • He is contractually obligated not to speak about the fight until after the post-fight press conference.
  • He is waiting for the UFC to release an official statement about the fight.

Whatever the reason, Adesanya’s silence after the loss to Strickland is sure to be a hot topic of conversation in the MMA world. Only time will tell what is next for the former UFC middleweight champion.
