Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou expects to make MORE changes to his squad before the new season as he looks to shape the side in his image – with Harry Kane’s future still uncertain

New Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has revealed that he expects to make more changes to his squad before the start of the new season.

Postecoglou faced the media for the first time on Monday and the discussion was quickly dominated by Harry Kane’s future at the club.

But while he has not asked for chairman Daniel Levy for any assurances over his star striker, Postecoglou admitted that he’s looking at players on an individual basis before making a decision of their futures.

Speaking at the club’s training ground, the 57-year-old – who is the first Australian to manage a Premier League team – said: ‘It’s fair to see that the reason I’m here is because the club is seeking change in direction and that usually transpires in the changing room too.

‘Right now I have to deal with uncertainties and try to tick them off one by one to see what our squad is going to look like, but that might take a little while.

‘I don’t think it’s my role to sit here and treat people in a manner because of their circumstances, I want to treat everyone the same.’

Postecoglou also revealed that he will use this week’s meeting with Kane to lay out his vision to make the club successful.

Kane, who is wanted by Bayern Munich, will return to training on Wednesday and ex-Celtic boss Postecoglou revealed how he expects the conversation with the 29-year-old to go.

‘No, I haven’t had any assurances and I wouldn’t expect any assurances. For me I am trying to concentrate on what I know now and Harry is part of the squad,’ Postecoglou said.

‘I don’t think it is my role to sit there and sort of treat people in a manner because of their circumstances. I am big on treating everyone the same.

‘Harry is already part of the history of this club and I want him involved here. My conversation with him will be about how we can make this club successful and that is what he wants as well.

‘I doubt it will be defining in the manner people think. I want to introduce myself to Harry, give him my vision, get an understanding from him over what his vision is and try be successful.’

Spurs are set to reject Bayern Munich’s latest bid of £68.5million for Kane, with the offer set to fall well below the club’s £120m valuation.
