Celtic failed to take advantage of Rangers slipping up on Saturday as they succumbed to a dire 2-0 defeat by Hearts.
Brendan Rodgers’ side started well and won an early penalty, but Adam Idah saw his spot kick saved by an inspired Zander Clarke.
Things went from bad-to-worse when Yang Hyun-Jun was sent off for catching Alex Cochrane with a high boot, before Jorge Grant put Hearts ahead from the spot.
Lawrence Shankland saw a goal ruled out by VAR on the stroke of half-time, before he scored his side’s second early in the second half.
Celtic huffed and puffed, but they went down to defeat to remain two points behind Rangers and heap more pressure on Rodgers following a difficult week.
