Shohei Ohtani has been pictured at SoFi Stadium as the Dodgers’ $700million man continues to enjoy the offseason by watching a Rams game.

The Japanese sensation – who signed his 10-year contract earlier this month – was all smiles as he posed with a Rams jersey with number 17 on the back.

Ohtani is expected to be watching the game from Rams owner Stan Kroenke’s suite as they take on the New Orleans Saints.

Reports earlier on Thursday suggested Ohtani would be bringing Yoshinobu Yamamoto with him to the game but they were quickly refuted.

The Dodgers are carrying out a major charm offensive in a bid to land the $300m-rated pitcher amid fierce interest across MLB.

Thursday was a good day for Ohtani after he was also named the AP Male Athlete of the Year – beating Lionel Messi and Novak Djokovic to claim the award for the second time in three years.

The baseball star received 20 of the 87 votes, with Inter Miami star Messi and 24-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic earning 16 apiece.

Nuggets center Nikola Jokic, the NBA Finals MVP, received 12 votes.

Even before signing his mammoth contract, Ohtani put together yet another season of unparalleled brilliance for the Los Angeles Angels and for Japan’s team in the World Baseball Classic.

Ohtani has now joined an impressive list of two-time winners of the award, which was first handed out in 1931. They include Carl Lewis, Joe Montana, Michael Jordan, Michael Phelps and four-time winner Tiger Woods.

In 2022, Ohtani finished second in the voting to Yankees slugger Aaron Judge.

Ohtani is a fan favorite in Los Angeles and recently became the city’s latest sports star to have an art mural made in his honor.

Jonas Never – a graffiti street artist – bought a few cans of spray paint to pull off the creation located on one of the sides of his shop, Prociety, on Main St and West 15th in downtown L.A.

He has done other murals before on LeBron James and Anthony Bourdain.

‘Had to welcome @shoheiohtani to LA the only way we know how,’ he shared as a caption to a photo of his most recent completed mural on Instagram, Saturday.

According to TMZ Sports, it took about a day and a half for Never to complete the chef d’oeuvre.
