Daniels was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, on March 24, 1970. He began his wrestling career in 1993, and quickly rose through the ranks of the independent circuit. In 1997, he signed with TNA, where he formed the tag team The Fallen Angels with AJ Styles. The Fallen Angels were one of the most successful tag teams in TNA history, and they held the NWA World Tag Team Championship on three occasions.

Early Career

In 2002, Daniels left TNA and signed with ROH. He quickly became one of the top stars in ROH, and he held the ROH World Championship twice. He also won the ROH World Tag Team Championship on four occasions, all with different partners.
