Ange Postecoglou denies Tottenham’s stance on Harry Kane’s future has changed, despite owner Joe Lewis telling Daniel Levy to SELL the striker if he refuses to sign a new deal

  • Tottenham have been desperate to keep Harry Kane at the club this summer
  • However, Joe Lewis has told Daniel Levy to sell him if he doesn’t sign a new deal
  • Ange Postecoglou has denied Tottenham’s stance on Kane has changed

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has insisted nothing has changed on Harry Kane’s future, as the striker continues to be linked with Bayern Munich.

The German champions are refusing to give up in their pursuit of Kane, and Spurs owner Joe Lewis has told chairman Daniel Levy he must be sold this summer if he refuses to sign a new contract, offering Bayern hope of landing the England captain.

But Postecoglou has denied that Tottenham’s stance on keeping Kane has changed in recent days.

Speaking ahead of Spurs’ friendly with Lion City Sailors in Singapore tomorrow, Postecoglou said: ‘No news on Harry Kane — at the moment there’s nothing that’s changed from a couple of days ago.’

Spurs have already turned down two bids from Bayern this summer, and have appeared desperate to keep their star striker at all costs.

The club were hopeful of convincing Kane to sign a new contract, but he has told them he has no intention of doing so at the moment.

Kane’s reluctance to put pen to paper raises the possibility of Tottenham losing him for nothing next year when his contract expires.

Lewis doesn’t want this to happen, and looks to have softened his stance when it comes letting Kane leave this summer.

Kane captained Spurs in their first pre-season outing last Tuesday as they slipped to a 3-2 defeat against West Ham.

He was due to lead the side out again on Sunday against Leicester, but the match was abandoned before a ball was kicked due to a waterlogged pitch following torrential rain in Thailand.
