Multispecialty medical group Privia Medical Group Gulf Coast, part of physician enablement company Privia Health, is partnering with tech-enabled women’s health startup Iron Health to launch an initiative that binds health services with OB/GYN care dubbed Privia Wellness.

Iron Health dubs itself as a virtual extension of an OB/GYN practice, offering primary care and mental health services, patient screening, virtual care and direct messaging options, EHR integration and patient and population health data insights. The company also connects primary and specialty care providers while assisting with coordinated care.

The new initiative will provide patients of the Texas-based medical group with Iron Health’s weight management tools, as well as hormone replacement therapy, nutraceuticals, and sleep and brain health offerings.

“Women trust their OB/GYN with the most intimate parts of their lives,” Stephanie Winans, CEO and cofounder of Iron Health, told MobiHealthNews in an email. “Our partnership with Privia Medical Group aligns with the shared vision of delivering comprehensive healthcare that caters to women’s evolving needs and expectations. With over 400 providers serving more than 1 million patients, we’re excited to partner with Privia Medical Group Gulf Coast to provide accessible and integrated care, leveraging the existing trust relationship between patients and their OB/GYN.”

THE LARGER TREND

New York-based Iron Health, built at Redesign Health, launched in March with $4.5 million in seed funding. March of Dimes’ Innovation Fund contributed to the company’s seed investment and is a strategic investor and partner.

Other companies working to improve women’s healthcare options include menopause-focused telehealth startup Evernow, Serena Williams-backed hybrid care provider Juno Medical, and digital health startup Tia, which combines virtual and in-person care, including acupuncture and primary, mental and gynecological care.
