Tottenham vs Chelsea LIVE

Tottenham vs Chelsea LIVE: Kepa Arrizabalaga STARTS in goal for Thomas Tuchel with N’Golo Kante on the bench while Nuno Espirito Santo makes four changes from defeat at Crystal Palace. Tottenham host Chelsea in a mouthwatering London derby this afternoon.

Blues put in statement second-half display as they net THREE times in north London with Thiago Silva, N’Golo Kane, and Antonio Rudiger all on target.

Nuno Espirito Santo made a perfect start to life at Spurs but has had a wobble in recent weeks and will hope his side can bounce back from the Crystal Palace defeat and end their dire run against Chelsea.

Thomas Tuchel’s men still haven’t tasted defeat and can go level on points with league leaders Liverpool with another victory today.

FULL-TIME: Tottenham 0-3 Chelesa

Spurs had Chelsea under pressure early in the first-half but once the Blues finally got going, they didn’t stand a chance.

Nuno’s men were overrun once N’Golo Kante came on and took charge of the midfield, and his decision to pair Dele Alli with Thiago Silva at corners looked more and more bizarre as Marcos Alonso whipped 11 into the box.

GOALLL!! Tottenham 0-3 Chelsea, Rudiger, 91 mins

Moments after Kovacic should have made it three from close-range, it’s Rudiger who finally does it.

Werner darts to the byline, squaring to the German who sweeps into the bottom-left corner through a crowded box.

Rudiger has been faultless today. Superb passes, relentless aggression and rock-solid defending. He tops it off with a goal.

18:15
85 mins – Luaku should score

Another glorious chance for Chelsea, whipped-in by Rudiger to beautifully dip into the six-yard box.

Lukaku is there, and he loses Sanchez, but the striker’s header is straight at Lloris.

18:11
80 mins – Pinball

After their brief burst Spurs are back in disarray. Werner tries to poke the ball past Lloris but the Frenchman just stops it, and chaos follows.

Alonso follows up with a shot but it’s blocked, before Kovacic chips it up to the back post. Azpilicueta heads it back across but Lukaku can’t reach it. A little more penalty box madness, and Spurs finally hack it clear.

18:08
79 mins – Werner booked

A frustrated Werner lunges in on Skipp, wiping him out. It stops the counter, but Wener will be desperate for more chances in the final 10 minutes.

18:07
77 mins – Oh Timo…

Chelsea break and Lukaku gets to drive at the defence, coming up against Dier.

Unselfishly he slides in Werner, who is one-on-one with Lloris, but the German’s first-touch is horrible and wrecks the chance.

The German’s composure is still missing in London.

18:05
74 mins – CLOSE!

Marcos Alonso whips-in a corner and Thiago Silva loses Dele Alli to head goalwards… but this time Lloris makes a save as the Brazilian misses-out on his double.

Spurs look very vulnerable from Chelsea’s corners. Alli against Silva is a total mismatch.

17:59
69 mins – Werner introduced

Timo Werner replaces Havertz to form a strike partnership with Lukaku for the final 20 minutes.

Havertz departs, not his best night but looked sharper after the break.

17:56
67 mins – Spurs coming back

The hosts are looking to respond after their changes, settling down on the ball a little.

So far they’ve been comfortably repelled by the European champions’ rock-solid defence.

Timo Werner is getting ready…

17:55
63 mins – Nuno’s changes

Nuno Espirito Santo finally responds to Tuchel’s move of bringing Kante on – 20 minutes too late – with Skipp and Gil coming in for Ndombele and Lo Celso.

17:53
61 mins – Ndombele has a go

In Spurs’ first attack since Chelsea took charge, they build towards Ndomblele on the edge of the box but his shot balloons over the bar.

17:46
GOAL! Tottenham 0-2 Chelsea, Kante, 56 mins

What a substitution by Thomas Tuchel. The UEFA coach of the year earning his title.

Kante’s presence has unpicked Spurs, who are in danger of a mauling from the European Champions unless they quickly respond.

The Frenchman shoots for the bottom-left corner from the edge of the box but it deflects wildly off Dier and rolls into the bottom-right. Not a lot Lloris could do about that one.

17:45
52 mins – Off the line!

All Chelsea now as Spurs hang on. Alonso almost finishing-off another stunning bit of Chelsea attacking.

Alonso sets Havertz off down the left, making his way into the box in the meantime.

Havertz crosses and it goes all the way across to Azpilicueta. The captain squares it for Alonso with plenty of time, but his shot is cleared off the line by Dier – with Lloris stranded.

17:38
GOAL!! Tottenham 0-1 Chelsea, Thiago Silva, 49 mins

The breakthrough! Chelsea go ahead as Thiago Silva rises highest to connect with Marcos Alonso’s corner – losing his marker and nodding into the bottom corner.

Another superb delivery from Alonso, who is having a phenomenal game. What a resurrection he’s had, after being frozen-out under Frank Lampard.

46 mins – Alonso shoots

Alonso makes a run in behind the Spurs defence as Silva lofts a ball over the top, and it looks a little long for the wing-back.

However, the Spaniard stretched to unleash a wonderfully-caught volley, forcing a strong save from Lloris.

HALF-TIME: Tottenham 0-0 Chelsea

A first-half of sparring passes without a goal. Neither keeper has been too tested yet… Havertz’s air-kick may have been the best chance so far.

17:16
42 mins – Ndombele down

Ndombele is down and being treated after clashing with Rudiger. The London derby bumps and bruises are already setting in.

17:13
First-half action

17:11
34 mins – Getting feisty

Jorginho and Kovacic and getting into a battling midfield scuffle with Spurs. The Blues are finally waking up to the battle.

Alonso whips-in a corner but Silva can’t direct it goalwards.

17:02
28 mins – Chelsea improving

The Blues have settled the game down and looked to keep the ball down for some possession, and it’s worked. They’re in control now and getting closer.

Alonso chips a ball into the box from the byline but it’s just over Lukaku. Havertz has had a poor first-half with several loose passes – Tuchel will be urging him to sharpen up.

16:54
20 mins – CLOSE!

The referee plays advantage after Christensen’s foul on Alli and with the Danish defender stranded, Reguilon is set free on the left.

The full-back looks to square it behind the Blues defence for Son to tap in but Rudiger’s pace saves Chelsea, as the German gets back to clear.

The ball comes back in from Kane and it goes straight through to Kepa, only for the Spaniard to spill it. He gets away with one, pouncing on the ball before Son can arrive.

16:51
19 mins – Ndombele looking sharp

Ndombele is looking really good, darting down the left before jinking away from Azpilicueta and Christensen.

Spurs on top here, Chelsea struggling with the rapid pace of this game right now. They need to get a proper foothold.

16:48
14 mins – Wrong pass

Brilliant counter-attack from Mount and Lukaku, until they had to finish it off.

Mount heads to Lukaku, who sets the Englishman away with the one-two. It’s three on three as Mount approaches the box but his pass is slightly behind Lukaku.

The striker plays it back inside to Mount, who is smothered before he can get a clean shot away. The Blues are dangerous on the break.

16:45
11 mins – Swing and a miss

Ironic cheers from the home support are directed towards Kai Havertz, but the German should have opened the scoring there.

Azpilicueta heads the ball across the box towards Havertz, who completely misses the ball on the volley.

16:42
7 mins – Spurs start strongest

Tottenham have made the brighter start here, keeping Chelsea pegged back in their own half.

The Blues are just starting to break out a little, but Spurs look up for this today…

16:35
3 mins – Dangerous position

Jorginho gives away a free-kick in a very threatening position on the edge of the box, catching Romero with a high boot.

Kane stands over it… but it’s into the wall and out for a corner.

Tuchel’s travels

The Spurs enigma

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men came crashing back down to reality eight days ago, when London rivals Crystal Palace scored three late goals to condemn 10-man Spurs to their first top-flight defeat under their new boss.

It is however just one defeat, but is there a fundamental underlying issue? Sportsmail delves into the numbers…
