And now, a new update has emerged on Cody’s status, and unfortunately, it isn’t good news for either WWE or Rhodes himself.

In a heartbreaking update, Fightful Select is reporting that Rhodes is set to undergo surgery later on this week.

We’ve learned that as of this morning, Cody Rhodes is slated to undergo surgery to repair the torn pectoral muscle this Thursday.

The former AEW star is going to address his injury status on Monday Night Raw tonight, where he’ll likely reveal that he’s going to need surgery.

The recovery time won’t be quick, as Fightful explains that other WWE Superstars to have undergone surgery for torn pecs have been out for anywhere between four and six months.

That wasn’t a ruse; the injury was real, as we saw when Cody removed his coat, displaying horrific bruises on his right shoulder. In the year 2019, he also suffered from head injuries.

Cody’s forehead was injured when he dived out onto the metal ramp that was attached to the ring. He landed face down after missing Chris Jericho, resulting in a huge cut above his right eye.

The injury nearly ended the match, but Cody was evaluated by Dr. Michael Sampson immediately afterward and cleared to continue. His doctor, who was a former ER nurse, sewed him up after his match.

Cody Rhodes has spoken out about his health condition following his attack on Monday Night Raw by Seth Rollins. He was thrown down the steel stairwell, appearing to injure his knee. The Visionary then grabbed the former’s belt and whipped him across the back.

As of now, he is fine and recently won a match against Seth Rollins. He was also wounded in yesterday’s game, but he will be fully recovered in a matter of days.
