Cameras provided a behind the scenes look into Liverpool’s dressing room celebrations after they defeated Chelsea to lift the Carabao Cup.

After a back and forth affair rich in chances but largely bereft in goals, Virgil van Dijk netted a header deep into extra-time to secure victory at Wembley.

The trophy marked the skipper’s first since being handed the armband following Jordan Henderson’s departure and he wasted no time getting the celebrations started following the final whistle.

A video posted on the club’s social media showed Van Dijk leading the celebrations inside the dressing room to a chorus of Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa’s 2018 hit One Kiss.

The song has become an anthem for the Reds and Harris was invited to conduct a DJ set during Liverpool’s open top bus trophy parade following their FA and Carabao Cup double in 2022.

Another clip posted on the club’s X (formerly Twitter) account saw the Dutch defender responding to the oft-repeated claims that he is no longer the player he once was.

‘Thought I was finished. That’s not the right mentality, you know?’

As the team took turns taking pictures with the trophy, Caoimhin Kelleher smiled after having produced one of the finest performances of his career to date.

The Republic of Ireland international was repeatedly called upon throughout the game, making a massive save to deny Cole Palmer in the first-half.

Kelleher has now kept clean sheets in two Carabao Cup finals, having started in 2022 against the Blues where he also scored in the shootout.

Meanwhile Harvey Elliott and Luis Diaz were among those filmed showcasing their dance moves.

The Columbian treated the trophy as his dance partner as he shimmied his way into the dressing room, much to the delight of the rest of the squad.

Victory on Sunday marked the first piece of silverware in what will be Jurgen Klopp’s final season at Anfield after he announced his forthcoming departure after nine years on Merseyside last month.

The Reds’ next game will see them continue their FA Cup campaign as they face Championship side Southampton on Wednesday.

Despite missing out on Champions League qualification last season, Liverpool also remain in the hunt for continental success in the Europa League.

After qualifying first from Group E, the Reds will face Sparta Prague next month for a place in the last eight.

All the while Liverpool remain top of the Premier League, though Manchester City did close the gap to just one point with their win over Bournemouth on Saturday.
