Aldi shoppers are sharing their one item from the supermarket they always buy on their grocery shops.
Customers raved about the things they always look out for – from Choceur chocolate blocks to the popular potato gratin and even smoked herring paste.
An Aldi newcomer asked loyal shoppers of the retailer what one item they would recommend she buy, drawing in hundreds of replies.
For dinners on the go, many were quick to recommend the Spanakopita which was once called the store’s ‘best kept secret’.
‘I second this. For a lazy frozen meal, it’s fantastic!’ a mum said and a second replied: ‘Agreed! Always need one of these in the freezer, the kids get so excited by this low effort, low cost dinner’.

‘The Greek boneless roast chicken. Delish and makes for a great lazy dinner. I have it in a warmed wrap with a Greek salad and tzatziki with a side of mini roast potatoes or oven chips,’ one user said.
‘I love the butter chicken marinated chicken thighs. So tender. Sear in a grill pan for eight minutes, then eat with the coriander chutney they have for $3 in the special items aisle. Stock up on the chutney. I haven’t seen it for at least six months, it’s just come back,’ a second explained.
Another said the loved the ‘absolutely insanely good’ Seasons Pride $4.99 Potato Gratin which was just voted as one of the winners at Aldi’s annual People’s Picks Awards.
A regular shopper said the Persian feta was ‘seriously good’ while another recommended the sourdough bread with goat’s cheese spread.
Many were keen on Aldi chocolate saying they prefer it over big brands from Woolies and Coles.
‘Their chocolate is amazing. Especially the mini blocks of Hazelnut Creme. Underrated,’ one woman said.
‘I buy the Choceur dark chocolate to cut up for choc chips to bake with,’ a second said.
One woman said the mini Choceur mini Hazelnut Creme bars were ‘underrated and another said the food Envy Tiramisu will be the best $5 you’ve ever spent
Other treats customers loved were the Caramelt biscuits, strawberry wafers, dark cherry yoghurt and Kapiti passion fruit and honey mini ice creams
‘Choceur! Incredible. The dark (which is really not super dark) is my favourite,’ a third agreed and a third said: ‘Its 10/10. Genuinely devastating that it doesn’t come in the big blocks.
Other treats customers loved were the Caramelt biscuits, strawberry wafers, dark cherry yoghurt and Melting Moment shortbread biscuits.
‘The Kapiti passion fruit and honey mini ice creams. Thank me later,’ someone said.
‘The crepes! Pop them in your sandwich press, count to 60. Amaziiiiiiing!’ a second suggested.
‘Do yourself a favour and get the ‘Food Envy’ Tiramisu. Will probably be the best $5/$6 you’ve spent in a very long time!’ wrote a third.
‘I like their salt and pepper squid, and Sriracha chicken bites – stick them in the air fryer,’ one user commented.

It wasn’t just food people were raving about with one woman saying : ‘This isn’t as exciting as the other suggestions, but don’t forget to stock up on their dishwashing tablets’

‘Was going to say the dish liquid for washing dishes by hand. Also the mould killer. and the toilet paper,’ a second added.
More suggestions included the Aldi smoked herring paste, honey roasted cashews, beetroot and goat’s cheese pizza and caramel popcorn.
A shopper also recommended: ‘Mini panettones. The full sized ones go stale before you can finish it but the minis are much more manageable.’
‘Frozen spinach and feta gozleme. Shallow fry it and cut into slices. I like to have it with sour cream or Greek yoghurt. Delicious,’ one person suggested.
