Manchester City have launched their new away strip for the upcoming season – with the aim of supporting safe water initiatives around the world.

The white Puma kit, modelled by Kyle Walker and Oleksandr Zinchenko at the Etihad Stadium, wants to draw awareness to the fact one in three people globally lack access to safe drinking water.

The Premier League champions’ Cityzens Giving charity and the club’s water technology partner Xylem have teamed up with Puma to produce the kit while using as little water as possible.

The club has also launched a campaign to reach 10,000 young people on three continents, helping to create clean water supplies in Mumbai, Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires.

A clean water tower in the Indian city is now supplying fresh drinking water to 1,800 people a day.

The design of the new kit, to be worn when Pep Guardiola’s side begin their title defence next month, features water droplets while the City and Puma logos feature colouring to give the impression of light breaking through water.

City started their pre-season build-up with a 2-0 win over Championship side Preston North End at their academy stadium on Tuesday.

They begin their Premier League campaign with a visit to Tottenham Hotspur on August 15.
