Following her arrest on Wednesday in a hotel in Cumbria, more than 200 miles from her Northampton terraced house, she was charged yesterday.
On Saturday afternoon, forensic investigators and specialized search teams, including a sniffer dog, uncovered a body in the back garden that police believe belongs to a missing 42-year-old man.
Mr. Billingham’s remains, described as a 42-year-old officer believed to be missing, were likely to be brought to Leicester for assessment by a Home Office pathologist.
During the two-minute hearing at Northampton Magistrates’ Court, Beal was accompanied by a single female dock officer.
She was informed that she was not eligible to apply for bail and that she would appear in the town’s crown court on Tuesday.

The corpse was discovered in the garden of their Northampton home on Saturday, following four days of digging and nearly five months after the alleged murder.
On Wednesday, Beal was apprehended 200 miles away at a motel in Cumbria.
Police were initially called to the Moore Street residence, where they began a thorough search of the entire premises.
