Trent Alexander-Arnold was seen biting his shirt in agony after suffering a knee injury during Liverpool’s 2-0 victory against Arsenal in the FA Cup on Sunday. 

Despite it now being confirmed that he will be sidelined for ‘a few weeks’ with knee ligament damage, the full-back bravely managed to play on and see out the remainder of the match.

Despite this, fans lauded his resilience online claiming, ‘Trent really played on in this state for 30 minutes’ after a video emerged online showing him biting his shirt and grimacing in pain after sustaining the injury. 

The 25-year-old had appeared to suffer the injury in a duel with Gabriel Martinelli in the 68th minute of the match. 

Alexander-Arnold had attempted to usher the Arsenal forward to the the byline, with the Liverpool defender appearing to run off the pitch, taking a few steps before pulling up in some discomfort.

He was seen limping back onto the field grimacing in pain before he bent over on his haunches and was seen biting his shirt in some discomfort. 

Liverpool confirmed after the game that he had ‘hyperextended his knee’ while defending the passage of play.
