Sky Sabre is an advanced air defense system designed to meet the ground-based air defense (GBAD) needs of the British Army. The unit is also sent by the UK to Poland before Russia made an invasion of Ukraine.

It will be used to replace the British Army’s Rapier Short Range Air Defense (SHORAD) system, which is approaching its end of life.
There are three main components of the Sky Sabre i.e, the Land Ceptor missiles and launcher system, the Giraffe AMB radar. Also, the modular integrated command, control, computers.
The last one is the communication (C4) air defense system MIC4AD, which serves as the command and control system. Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, Saab Group, and MBDA are the three main contractors for the Sky Sabre program.

The UK is helping Poland amid the possible Russian attack by providing, a Sky Sabre missile.
In response to Russia’s escalating military action against Ukraine, the United Kingdom is sending its most advanced radar and missile defense system to Poland.
During a visit to Warsaw on Thursday, Britain’s defense minister announced that the Sky Sabre missile system would be deployed in Poland. NATO moves to beef up the security of its eastern flank in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
“We are deploying the Sky Sabre medium-range anti-air missile system to Poland with about 100 personnel to Poland. It will ensure that we stand alongside Poland, protecting her air routes from any further Russian aggression,” Ben Wallace said at a press conference.
