The Sacramento Kings will welcome the Utah Jazz to Golden 1 Center for an NBA game on Saturday. The Sacramento Kings won 135-127 in their last game over the Suns. Kevin Huerter led all scorers with 29 points and the Sacramento Kings beat the Phoenix Suns 135-127 on Friday night. Huerter added nine rebounds and five assists for the Kings (44-29), who are in third place in the Western Conference behind Denver and Memphis.
“That third quarter was huge,” Huerter said. “At the start of it, we got stops and allowed us to get out in transition … we had to pick up the pace, continue to move the ball, and look for better looks.” Domantas Sabonis finished with 27 points, nine rebounds and nine assists for the Kings.
Sacramento’s De’Aaron Fox exited the game with 7:16 left in the third quarter with right hamstring soreness. Fox finished with 19 points in 21 minutes. “Big win by our guys tonight,” Kings coach Mike Brown said. “The energy in this building is off the charts.” Harrison Barnes scored 23 points and Keegan Murray finished with 13 points, including three 3-pointers in the win.
The Utah Jazz on the other hand lost 116-144 against the Bucks in their last game. Simone Fontecchio scored a career-high 26 points in his third career start to lead the Jazz. Kelly Olynyk had 16 points and seven rebounds. Talen Horton-Tucker added 13 points and eight assists as Utah dropped its second in a row at home. The Jazz shot just 38.5% from the field. “They shot the ball at an unbelievable clip for the first 3 1/2 quarters,” Jazz coach Will Hardy said. “It felt like we could not throw the ball in the ocean.”
The Jazz cut the deficit to 22-17 on a 3-pointer from Johnny Juzang before Milwaukee ran away from Utah again before the first quarter ended. Jevon Carter scored three baskets over four possessions to fuel a 16-4 run that extended the Bucks’ lead to 38-21. “We wanted to force them to get the looks that we want,” Horton-Tucker said. “But when they’re hitting them, it is hard to kind of regroup.
Utah trimmed the deficit to single digits again in the second quarter, cutting Milwaukee’s lead to 54-48 on back-to-back baskets from Olynyk and Walker Kessler. The Bucks countered with a 16-2 run punctuated by three straight baskets by Antetokounmpo to extend their lead again to 70-50.
