Manchester City and Arsenal will not have to wait long until they find out who they will be playing in the Champions League last-16.

Pep Guardiola’s side made it six wins in as many games following their win over Red Star Belgrade. The Premier League giants finished top of their group – six points ahead of RB Leipzig.

Arsenal are also in the draw for the next round of the competition after finishing top of Group B. The Gunners drew with Dutch side PSV in their final group stage match.

Manchester United and Newcastle were both knocked out of the competition. Erik ten Hag’s side finished bottom of their group following their defeat to Bayern Munich, while Eddie Howe’s Magpies were beaten by Serie A side AC Milan. Like United, Newcastle also finished bottom of their respective group.

Who has qualified?

As alluded to, Premier League sides Arsenal and Manchester City will both be competing in the last-16.

Real Madrid, along with City, were the only teams to win all six of their group stage matches. Fellow Spanish side Barcelona will also be playing in the next round of the competition.

Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern Munich finished top of Group A and will be hoping for a comfortable knockout tie.

The draw will work with the winners of each group being put into a seeded pot. The runners-up in each group will go into a second unseeded pot.

They will be drawn against each other with seeded sides playing the first leg of each tie away, before returning home for the second match of the tie.

Premier League sides Arsenal and Man City cannot play each other as they are from the same national association.

Teams cannot face any team they played in the group stage. Therefore, Arsenal cannot play PSV and City cannot face RB Leipzig.
