From 2017 until 2019, Brian led Vodafone Business, a division of the Vodafone Group, as its CEO before joining Cognizant.
Brian received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Ulster, Northern Ireland.

The Company announced Kumar’s appointment as President of Cognizant Americas, which will now go to 24-year Cognizant veteran Surya Gummadi.
Following his Outgoing former CEO on his LinkedIn profile wrote, “he joined the Company four years ago to reposition and transform Cognizant into a leading digital transformation Company and during my tenure as CEO and honored to have led the Company.”
Is Ravi Kumar Appointed As A New CEO?
Cognizant has become the trending topic as soon as they confirm the appointment of Infosys veteran Ravi Kumar succeeded Brians Humphries as CEO.
Following his appointment, Ravi released a statement claiming he is honored to join Cognizant and has long been admired for its dedicated client focus and its track record of innovation.
After a 20-year career at Infosys, Ravi joined Cognizant as the new CEO, but in his previous Company held various leadership roles and served as President from January 2016 till October 2022.
The newly appointed CEO, Ravi, has over 20 years of experience in technology consulting, driving large transformational programs, incubating new practice lines, and developing new business models based on industry segments.
As per Times now, in connection with the CEO transition, Cognizant also announced that Surya Gummadi would be President of Cognizant Americas.
Surya, a 24-year veteran of Cognizant, had held the role on an interim basis since July 2022 and previously served as SVP of Cognizant’s Health Sciences business segment.
This month, Surya joined the Company as president of Cognizant Americas, filling a vacant post after Cognizant fired Gregory Hyttenrauch due to “behavior inconsistent with Company policy.”

Brian is a broadly experienced technology Executive with a proven track record of driving enterprise-wide transformation through focused execution based on competitive market segments.
In his early career phase, he worked with Compaq and Digital Equipment Corporation.
Later, he worked for over ten years at Hewlett-Packard in various senior roles, including Senior Vice President, Emerging Markets, then moved to Dell.
From 2013 to 2017, The tech expert joined Vodafone from Dell Technologies, where he served as President and Chief Operating Officer of its Infrastructure Solutions Group, President of Dell’s Global Enterprise Solutions, and Vice President and General Manager of EMEA Enterprise Solutions.
