According to the email, “We appreciate that this will negatively affect a number of people who have made significant contributions to Twitter, but this step is regrettably necessary to ensure the company’s success moving forward.”

The email was initially made known to staff members by The Washington Post. The company email states that all workers will receive an email on Friday by noon ET/9 PT with the subject line “Your Role at Twitter” as part of the layoff procedure.

Employees were informed via business email on Thursday that they would be notified via Twitter if their employment was unaffected and that they would be notified by personal email with further instructions if their employment was.

Twitter stated in the business email that its offices are currently closed and that “all badge access will be terminated.”

In the email, the business stated, “We acknowledge this is an extraordinarily painful experience to go through, whether or not you are impacted.”

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, finalized the acquisition of Twitter last week.

According to Forbes, Musk is the richest man in the world. He reportedly paid $54.20 per share for Twitter, which came to a total of about $44 billion.

According to a source with knowledge of the situation, Musk’s Twitter arrangement was terminated on October 28.

According to the source, several of Twitter’s top executives have been let off, including CEO Parag Agrawal, CFO Ned Segal, CLO Vijaya Gadde, and General Counsel Sam Edgett. The business will also likely conduct an internal inquiry.

Musk had previously stated that he would postpone making any substantial decisions about account reinstatement or content filtering until after the creation of a new committee focused on the issues.

Musk tweeted that Twitter would create a content moderation council with a wide range of perspectives. Before that council meets, “no significant content decisions or account reinstatements will happen.”

According to a copy of the email acquired by CNN, “If your employment is not impacted, you will get a message via your Twitter email.” You will be notified via your email of the next steps if your employment is disrupted.

The email also stated that all credential access would be suspended and the company’s offices would be temporarily closed “to help protect the safety” of the staff and Twitter’s systems.

The email finished by stating that the workers will have “a very tough process to go through.”  And released in response to news claims that Musk intended to fire as many as half of the company’s employees after buying it last week for $44 billion.

According to two people familiar with the decision, Musk fired CEO Parag Agrawal and two other executives when he first took over at Twitter.

And less than a week after Musk bought the business, the C-suite looks to have almost completely disappeared thanks to a combination of resignations and firings. The prior board of directors for Twitter has also been disbanded by Musk.
