Volunteers answering the NHS call to help its vaccination scheme have been told they won’t be interviewed until January 31.
Thousands have offered to join the crusade to vaccinate the population. But some complain of a poor response.
Londoner Charlotte Hindle said: ‘I have applied to be a volunteer vaccinator, but the first available interview is January 31. There are not enough staff to process.’

Dr Michael Paul, of Barnoldswick, Lancashire, worked in the NHS for 50 years.
He said: ‘After numerous emails and telephone calls – nothing. I filled in the form and contacted my local GP. Guess what? Nothing.’
An NHS spokesman said: ‘It is untrue that there are any delays in Covid vaccination caused by accrediting volunteers or returners. Tens of thousands of people have completed their online training.’
