On August 17, Trossard made his debut, scoring the equaliser in a 1-1 home tie with West Ham United. In the 2019–20 season, Trossard scored twice against Norwich, once in the decisive 2-0 home win on November 2, 2019, and once in the critical 1-0 away win on July 4, 2020, which enabled Brighton to move further away from the bottom three.
