Viewers were left in floods of tears following Stacey Solomon’s Sort Your Life Out on Tuesday, after the presenter revealed a sweet surprise for a father who lost his wife to cancer.

The star was enlisted to help father-of-two Craig, whose wife Lois died of cancer five years ago, after he struggled to keep on top of everyday tasks.

Asking Craig what had led to his house being so cluttered, he admitted that it had been a challenge raising his two daughters alone following Lois’ death.

After moving the family’s belongings to a warehouse, Stacey discovered an old diary that Lois had written.

In it was an entry from Lois’ last Christmas season with her husband and their daughters.

She wrote: ‘If it was the last one – and I sincerely hope it isn’t – it’s the best Christmas I had because it was smothered in love as all Christmases should be.’

The words led Craig to break down in tears, and Stacey sweetly embraced him.

After clearing the house of clutter and giving it a transformation, Stacey revealed the new home to Craig and his daughters, who were aged four and six.

Part of the transformation included a new office space for Craig to work in peace, and a secret reading room for his daughters.

In the episode’s heartwarming final moments, Stacey also revealed to Craig that Lois, who worked as a teacher, had previously written a children’s story for their daughters, and she had it published into a book so the family could read it together.

The moving episode left many viewers in tears, with plenty also praising Craig for navigating the challenges of being a widower raising two children alone.

One tweeted: ‘What an emotional episode! Beautiful girls, Dad is doing a wonderful job raising them.’

A second added: ‘A hidden book room, a lot of tears from me, my house underneath a blue banner, tonight’s #sortyourlifeour was pretty special.’
