Is Kenyan-British Cyclist Still In The Tour De France? Chris Froome (Christopher Clive Froome) is a Kenyan/British road racing cyclist currently riding for UCI World Team Israel-Premier Tech. He is currently one of the most decorated cyclists and has several accolades, including seven Grand Tours.

The cyclist’s seven Grand Tour wins include four at Tour de France in 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2017. He won one Giro d’Italia and two Vuelta an Espana in 2011 and 2017. Besides, the athlete also had three Velo d’Or in 2013, 2015, and 2017.

The Kenyan/British cyclist has also won two bronze medals in Olympics road time trials in 2012 and 2016. He also won the bronze medal at the 2017 World Championships. He is so much into cycling that he withdraw from the university after two years to pursue his career in cycling.

The cyclist started his professional career in cycling at just 22 with the South African team Konica Minolta. He made his first professional cycling debut in the April of 2007 in the U23 Nations cycling for World Cycling Centre tea based in Aigle, Switzerland.

The cyclist has suffered from Covid-19 & has withdrawn from any near future competition he is expected to participate in. The seven-time Grand Tour winner has recently been in a recovery form since his terrible crash in the 2019 Tour de France, in which he suffered multiple fractures.

The Kenyan British cyclist took it to Twitter to express his disappointment that he had to withdraw from the competition and return home. However, the player is positive about his soon and inevitable return and hopes that he will be able to feel his legs again.

The former Olympic bronze medalist made his breakthrough in cycling with his first Grand Tour win at Vuelta an Espana in 2011. He wasn’t initially supposed to compete but made it as a last-minute replacement to Lars Petter Nordhaug, a former Norwegian road bicycle racer.

Besides these competitions, the cyclist has also won other accolades like Tour de Romanidae in 2013 and 2014. Further, he has also won the Tour of Oman in the same years. In addition, the rider was named an officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2016 New Year Honours for his contributions to cycling.

The player posted a minute-long video on his Twitter, revealing that he was will not participate in the competition. In his video, he reveals how disappointing it is and thanks his fans and supporters for their support and encouragement.

The cyclist is one of three forced to withdraw from the competition owing to a contract dispute with Covid. However, the Kenyan/British cyclist seems to have strong ambitions and teased his probable return to cycling competition at Vuelta an Espana.

He has dealt with several setbacks in his life and bounced back stronger. One of his most severe setbacks occurred in June of 2019 when he was hospitalized owing to several fractures. He was injured with fractures in his elbow, right femur, and ribs. It took him until the September of that year before he recovered.
