The incident occurred when an unnamed woman’s parked automobile blocked another car driven by McClendon’s mother. According to authorities, the owner of the parked automobile was carrying meals to her grandma.
McClendon was in the backseat of his mother’s automobile. After the woman got into her car, he “retrieved a semi-automatic weapon from his mother’s luggage in the back seat.” Following the confrontation, she attempted to drive away.
McClendon then “fired one bullet into the front windshield.” The gunshot impacted the victim immediately in front of him, who was still sitting in the driver’s seat.
During his detention, McClendon informed police that he believed the woman aimed to hit his mother with her car. He just discharged the handgun to frighten the woman away.
McClendon, who was a passenger in his mother’s car, “retrieved a semi-automatic handgun from his mother’s bag in the back seat” after the woman got into her car and attempted to drive away following the argument. McClendon then “shot one round into the front of the windshield, which struck directly in front of the victim, who was still seated in the driver seat.”
McClendon told police that he believed the woman was “attempting to strike his mother with her vehicle” and only fired the weapon as a means of scaring the woman off.

In Florida, aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon without intent to murder is a class three felony. Shooting into an inhabited car is a second-degree crime punishable by up to 15 years in prison and penalties of up to $10,000.
According to the same online documents, Jyvonte was found guilty of firing into an inhabited car and aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon without the intent to kill. On December 1, 2021, the jury released him from prison.
When the Early Signing Period opens on December 8, 2021, McClendon is not likely to be a member of South Carolina’s 2022 signing class. Furthermore, Keith Barefield, McClendon’s Lake Gibson head coach, stated that he could not comment on his case.
