Barcelona star youngster Ansu Fati is attracting interest from the Premier League, according to reports.

Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool have all held talks with the 20-year-old’s agent, claims transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.

The news comes after Barca president Joan Laporta talked to the media about the current state of the club, and was asked about the much-heralded academy graduate.

“His representative has been in Barcelona these days,” Laporta said. “But Ansu is a Barca player and we have high hopes.

“We have no news that we want to make moves. He is a loved person and a player with whom we have high hopes.”

Speculation has increased around Fati, mainly due to his lack of minutes this season.

After an injury-hit start to his professional career, the Spain forward has featured in all 31 of Barcelona’s games this season, but 22 of those appearances came from the bench.

His agent, Jorge Mendes, has since been spotted in Catalunya, and informed Laporta that there is plenty of interest in his client.

“Right now we are not considering it [selling Fati],” he said. I cannot predict the future.

“For us Ansu Fati is a player with whom we have great hopes. It all depends on whether he is useful for the club and for Xavi.

“He has generated a lot of expectations and we are not willing to sell the player at this time. I want the players to be there for as long as they have been signed.

“His representative has let us know that he has interested clubs. But we have no news that the player wants to leave.

“We will do what suits the club, but he is an interesting player in the market.”

Romano claims that the second half of the season will be crucial in deciding Fati’s future, having started just nine games so far, while Bayern Munich have said they’re not interested in the player.

In 2021, after a stunning start to life at the Camp Nou, Fati penned a new contract until 2027 with a €1billion release clause.

However, if both he and the club want to go a different way, bids well below that mark could be considered.
