With a deal yet to be agreed with Les Parisiens, it has led to speculation the World Cup winner’s future lies away from France.

A switch to Middle East outfit Al-Hilal has been mooted where he would be reunited with rival Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia.

Argentina skipper Messi has also been linked with a stunning return to Barcelona, while a move Stateside to join David Beckham’s Inter Miami has been reported.

But PSG chief Campos has declared that the Ligue 1 leaders are determined to keep Messi in the French capital with both parties in negotiations over an extension.

He made the revelation after PSG’s 2-1 win against Toulouse on Saturday – where Messi scored a second half stunner with a curling strike from outside the box.

Campos told Telefoot: “At the moment, we are in discussions with Messi for his extension.

“I would like to keep him in this project, I can’t hide it.

“We are talking at the moment to achieve this goal, and continue to have him with us.”

Messi has been in stunning form for PSG this campaign – chipping in with 15 goals and 14 assists in 24 games in all competitions.

He has already scored four more goals that what he mustered last term, while he has only registered one less assist.

His strike against Toulouse proved to be the winner as PSG came from behind to claim all three points.

Branco van den Boomen gave the visitors a shock lead in the 20th minute, before Achraf Hakimi equalised before the break.

Messi then fired PSG in front two minutes before the hour mark as he curled home an effort from outside the box into the bottom left corner.

PSG now sit eight points clear at the top of the table, though Marseille can cut the gap to five should they beat Nice on Sunday night.
